Detailed data

ABB 88FN02C-E GJR2370800R0200 MODULE

The bus coupling device is used both within the distribution stations and the universal processing stations of the PRO-CONTROL bus system.

It is used to connect the local bus to the remote bus via the modem devices (88FT01, 88FV01) and vice versa.

The device is available in two versions and two designs:
88FN02-E/R0100: 160 mm depth, suitable for universal processing stations
88FN02-E/R0200: 220 mm depth, suitable for distribution stations.

Both versions (R0100 and R0200) are identical in terms of their technical functions.

The device has a standard interface in the remote bus direction and a standard interface to the PROCONTROL local bus.

A selection circuit allows two remote bus lines (with a redundant bus system) to be connected to the coupling device.

Faults detected by the monitoring circuit are indicated by an LED (ST) on the front panel of the remote bus devices.

Continuous transmitter faults are indicated on the front panel by the LEDs QA and QB.

The channel selection circuit allows two (redundant) long-distance bus lines to be connected to one bus coupling device. It is controlled by both bus couplers.

The control criterion is the first synchronization character SYN. This character indicates the start of a data telegram arriving via the remote bus. This switches the selection circuit to the corresponding channel.

Normally, a complete system cycle is completed on a long-distance bus line. The next system cycle is completed by the second distribution station. The first SYN character of the first telegram from this distribution station switches the selection circuit of all local bus coupling devices in the system to this long-distance bus line.

A mutual interlock prevents simultaneous reception on both channels. Channel switching is only enabled during the transmission and reception pauses between telegrams.
