Control of the station protocol
Station-bus communication
Data communication with the station follows a defined protocol which is controlled by the 88TK05.
All PROCONTROL station modules follow this protocol, i.e.no module of the station may actively participate in data transfer without a permission.
Address transmission:
On the 88TK05, the corresponding system and station addresses of a PROCONTROL station are set. When the station is initialized, the 88TK05 sends the address information to the station bus in the form of a special telegram, and sends it once in each system cycle on the station bus. In this way, all modules of a PROCONTROL station will obtain the same station address and system address set on the 88TK05.
Protocol control mainly comprises the following functions:
- identify those modules that request to send data telegrams to the station bus
- grant a send license to one station module at a time for sending data telegrams to the station bus,
- enable or disable sent or received data telegrams after checking for correct content and formal accuracy,
-Controlling the event mode in a station:
In event mode, each station module that has issued an event message can send a data telegram. The transmission starts with the highest module address.
Then, in descending order, all modules indicating an event can send a data telegram. This process is repeated until there are no more event messages to send (rotating priorities).
-Controlling the list mode in a station:
For the transmission of larger amounts of data, list transmission is used. Depending on the type of list transmission (write/read), the list master or list slave is granted permission to send a telegram block with the list data. List transmission takes place in cyclic mode.
-Receive mode:
When the remote bus receives a data telegram for the station, the station interrupts the cyclic mode as well as the event mode and allows the station-bus coupling module to access the bus to send and receive telegrams.
