GE IC697CHS750 Rear Mount Rack
The IC697 programmable controller's standard nine-slot and five-slot racks are available for all CPU and I/O configurations. Each rack is equipped with a power supply in the leftmost module position; and provides nine additional slot positions (nine-slot rack) or five additional slot positions (five-slot rack).
The overall dimensions of the nine-slot rack are 11.15H x 19W x 7.5D (283mm x 483mm x 190mm) and the five-slot rack are 11.15H x 13W x 7.5D (283mm x 320mm x 190mm). The slots are 1.6 inches wide except for the power supply slot which is 2.4 inches wide.
For applications with expanded I/O requirements, two racks can be interconnected to share a single power supply. A power extension cable kit (IC697CBL700) is available for such applications.
Each rack provides slot sensing for rack-mounted I/O modules designed for IC697 PLCs. No jumpers or DIP switches are required on the I/O modules for module addressing
Rack Mounting
The rack must be installed in the orientation shown in Figures 1 and 2. Sufficient space must be allowed around the rack to allow air to circulate to cool the modules. The mounting requirement (front or rear) must be determined based on the application and the appropriate rack ordered. The mounting flanges are an integral part of the rack side panels and are factory installed.
For installations where heat buildup may be an issue, a rack fan assembly can be used to install in the nine-slot rack if desired. The rack fan assembly is available in three versions:
-IC697ACC721 for 120 VAC power source
-IC697ACC724 for 240 VAC power source
-IC697ACC744 for 24 VDC power source
