Detailed data
GE IC660BBD120 Block High Speed Counter Module
The high-speed counter block (IC66*BBD120) can directly process fast pulse signals up to 200KHz and is suitable for industrial control applications such as:
-Turbine flow meter
-Instrument verification
-Speed measurement
-Material handling
-Motion control
The module can be powered by 115VAC and/or 10 to 30VDC. If the module's primary power source is 115 VAC, a 10 VDC-30 VDC power source can be used as a backup source. Both 115 VAC and DC power can be supplied simultaneously; if the 115 VAC power source fails, the module will continue to operate from the DC backup power source. Any DC power source capable of providing an output in the 10 VDC to 30 VDC range can be used. The power source must meet the specifications listed in this chapter. In the case where both AC and DC power are applied simultaneously, the module power will be drawn from the AC input as long as the DC voltage is less than 20 volts.

Features:
Block features include
-12 inputs and 4 outputs, plus a +5 VDC output and an oscillator output
-Counts per timebase register per counter
-Software configuration
-Fault switch diagnostics
-Uses 115 VAC and/or 10 VDC to 30 VDC block power supplies
-External battery backup operation
-Built-in output surge protection
High-speed counters can be easily configured to count up or down, count up and down, or calculate the difference between two changing values.
The block provides 1, 2, or 4 counters of differing complexity:
-Four identical, independent simple counters
-Two identical independent counters of moderate complexity
-One complex counter
Direct processing means that the block senses inputs, counts them, and responds with outputs without communicating with the CPU.
