Detailed data
GE IS200VAICH1DAA Analog Input/Output Board
The Analog Input/Output (VAIC) board accepts 20 analog inputs and controls 4 analog outputs. Each termination board accepts 10 inputs and 2 outputs. Cables connect the termination board to the VME rack where the VAIC processor board resides. The VAIC converts the inputs to digital values and transmits them through the VME backplane to the VCMI board and then to the controller. For outputs, the VAIC converts the digital values to analog currents and drives these currents through the termination board into the customer circuits. The VAIC supports both simplex and triple modular redundant (TMR) applications. When used in a TMR configuration, the input signals on the termination board are spread across three VME racks R, S, and T, each containing a VAIC. The output signals are driven through a proprietary circuit that utilizes all three VAICs to create the required current. In the event of a hardware failure, the bad VAIC is removed from the outputs and the remaining two boards continue to produce the correct current. When used in a simplex configuration, the termination board provides the input signal to a single VAIC, which provides the current for all outputs.
